CALMMOON

References & Approvals

Calmmoon noise suppression sheeting has been used very successfully since 2002 in railway engineering on bridge structures and rail webs and in carriages on Shinkansen bullet trains.

The effectiveness of Calmmoon in these applications has been optimised by matching the thicknesses of the separate resin and metal support layers to the actual circumstances.

Reference railway projects

  • Damping the rail webs of longitudinal bridge supports on the Hainburg railway bridges project of Austrian Federal Railways.
  • Damping rails in the ballasted track area of tramway lines in Vienna.
  • Rolling stock of the Shinkansen bullet trains in Japan. The Shinkansen travels at up to 300 km/h with an axle load of approx. 11.4 tons. This is possible because every wheel on the train is driven. In the optimisation of the carriage construction, Calmmoon is used to reduce vibrations. Passengers travel more comfortably than on an aeroplane.

References from other industry sectors

Apart from the railways, Calmmoon is also used in shipping, the aircraft and automobile industries and to quieten air conditioning ducts, to the full satisfaction of customers.
